COMPETITION RULES
- All entries and payment must be received by Noon https://www.kilbridegaa.com/product/euros-2024/ on Friday the 14th of June – late entries will not be accepted, and late payment will make an entry invalid.
- The winner will be the person whose six teams have the highest cumulative number of points – see below for details of how points are awarded.
- Prizes will be determined by the total number of entries but 50% of total entry fees will be returned as prize money.
- There will be at least three cash prizes with 50% of the proceeds returned as prize winnings.
- Keep an eye on the Kilbride GAA Website and Facebook page for regular updates and to see how you are doing as the tournament progresses!
Points will be awarded to teams as follows:
Overall
- 100 points – Champions
- 60 points – Beaten finalist
- 50 points – 3rd place
- 40 points – 4th place
Groups
- 25 points – Group winners
- 15 points – Group runners-up
- 10 points – Group third place
Matches
- 30 points for each match a team wins at the end of normal time at any stage (that is a group
- match or a knock-out match *). Reduced to 20 points if they win after extra-time and to 15 points if they win on penalties.
- 10 points for each match a team draws in the group stages.
- 10 points to each team that loses after extra-time or penalties in a knock-out match*
Bonus Points
The following points will be added to the points accumulated under all the above criteria.
- 40 points to the team scoring the highest aggregate number of goals in the entire tournament**
- 40 points to the team that scores the highest number of goals in a single match **
- 40 points to the tournament top scorer’s team**
* A knock-out match is a match in the Round of 16, the Quarter-finals, the Semi-finals, the 3rd place playoff, and the Final.
** Including goals scored in extra-time but excluding goals scored in penalty shootouts. In the event of a tie, the total of 40 points will be divided proportionally.
