We have lost a number of colossal figures over the past few years in Manor Kilbride and sadly we have lost another, John Ward Senior passed away on Friday surrounded by his loving family.

John, Kay and the Ward family have been synonymous with the growth of Ladies football in the Club and the Club in general.  Truly speaking the Kilbride Ladies Team had a benefactor in the shape of John and his generosity had no bounds.

Without supporters like John and the Ward family, there may not be a Ladies team in the Club today.

Outside the Club, John was an incredible community man and was involved in numerous boards, committees and groups, a man with a caring, warm and positive can-do attitude.

We in the Club and the community of Manor Kilbride are indebted to John for all his community focused generosity and his hard work throughout the decades.

John will be sorely missed by all, a colossal and a gentleman.

The Club will form a guard of honour at John’s funeral tomorrow in Manor Kilbride at 11AM as a mark of respect to a wonderful man.
