Baltinglass were crowned Senior Champions – scoreline: 1-10 to 0-05
Ballymanus were crowned Junior A Champions

Some interesting points of note:

Blessington returned to Senior from Junior just the year before It was Blessington’s first senior final since 1942

Blessington’s Garda Frank Byrne was going for his 6 sixth Senior medal, having never lost a final (Portlaoise – 3, Baltinglass – 2)

The Miley Cup is the second trophy of that name. The original trophy was won outright by Baltinglass in 1967. Jim Miley of Blessington donated the second trophy.

Our own Club have won both Miley trophies – 62 and in 68.

Ballymanus were first affiliated as ‘Billy Byrnes’ and there nickname still hold today…’The Billies’ – they lost both Senior Football finals in 1933 and 34.
